Creating Wealth

One of the purposes of this website is to help you to create wealth and to have the freedom to pursue your goals without being tied down to your circumstances. It will take discipline but the joy of achieving your goals and the self-confidence it renders will be worth it.
In “The One Minute Millionaire” by Mark Hansen and Robert Allen, they state a long-term method of creating wealth. They state that if you will save $30.00 per month and are able to obtain a tax free savings rate of 10%, you can have a million dollars after 56 years. To become a millionaire in your lifetime is to find investments that yield 10% annually and the discipline to keep the process going year after year.
In another book I read, the time value of money was illustrated. The author indicated that a person deposited in his sons name $1,000.00 per year for the first ten years of his life. Assuming a 10% return on the money, that savings grew to $15,937.42 on his tenth birthday. At that time the father quit depositing the money. However, the son resisted the temptation to pull the money out and the fund grew to $3,013,115.83 over the next 55 years.
The book goes on to state that if the father had waited until the sons 10th birthday to begin the savings plan, if he deposited $1,000.00 every year for 55 years the investment would have only grown to $1,880,591.30; quite a difference. Other examples are given about waiting later and later in life and the effect it has on your savings and the accumulation of wealth.
The point is, to begin now. Each hour and day wasted without beginning only makes the accumulation of wealth harder. A larger return on your investment or a larger commitment of money is required to meet your goals.
I know it may be difficult to begin, however it is important to do so. Give up that candy bar or something that is not really needed and begin. The sooner you begin, the more opportunities will open up to you.
In the following pages, an explanation of the stock market will be unfolded. This is one method to be able to obtain a long-term rate of return on your money that is historically been larger than the money market or certificate of deposit return obtained from the bank.
